Dr Rashi Parker
Manukau Harbour Symposium 2025
Held on Saturday 31 May | Green Bay Highschool, Auckland, Aotearoa
Speaker: Dr Rashi Parker
Topic: Aotearoa is the seabird capital of the world, home to 95 pelagic (ocean-roaming) species that return to our shores to breed. Dr Rashi Parker of the native bird hospital Birdcare Aotearoa will explore how seabirds contribute to resilient coastlines and the impacts of human activity - including light pollution and fishing entanglement - on their populations, with insight into their clinical recovery mahi at the hospital, and how we can solve this problem.
This presentation was part of a full-day wānanga focused on restoring the health and creating hope for the Manukau Harbour, supported by the Manukau Harbour Forum, Auckland Council.
