Speaker: Johnnie Freeland (Ngāti Te Ata Waiohua, Ngāi Tāhoe)
Topic: Johnnie is a way finder, indigenous systems navigator and whakapapa centred designer. He brings together more than 30 years’ knowledge and lived experience of serving community and in guiding and navigating a range of Iwi, Māori community and public sector organisations in working to achieve better outcomes with Māori. Johnnie will profile his work in regenerative practice and connections with the Puhinui Stream and how the Māori perspective and knowledge systems will benefit the stream and ultimately, the harbour as a whole.
This presentation was part of a full-day wānanga focused on restoring the health and creating hope for the Manukau Harbour, supported by the Manukau Harbour Forum, Auckland Council.
